Learning apps have boomed during the pandemic. Now comes the real test

The pandemic has sped the adoption of technology in education by easily five to ten years. For instance, the worldwide audience for Google Classroom, Google’s free class assignment and grading app, has skyrocketed to more than 150 million students and educators, up from 40 million early last year. And Zoom video communication says it has provided free services during the pandemic to more than 125,000 schools in 25 countries. The popularity of these tools after a return to the classroom will depend on their practical usefulness.
