A digital depository to be created by the Centre for safe storage and retrieval of certificates of country’s students will not allow an employer access to the documents for verification without permission of the student concerned. Employers can seek verification of certificates only with the consent of the student, HRD Minister Smriti Irani said. The National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) and the Central Depository Services (India) Limited, which currently hold securities in the electronic format, may be considered as partners in this project.

Digilocker, a government of India undertaking,  accepted CMEPEDIA as a partner to store all certificates and endorsement statements generated by CMEPEDIA.
